1. The Competition
1.1. The Farming Photography Competition (“Competition”) is organised by Clarke & Pulman Ltd (“the Organiser”).
1.2. The Competition is intended to celebrate farming, agriculture, rural life and the people, animals, landscapes and activities that contribute to the farming community.
1.3. By submitting an entry, participants confirm that they have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Competition is open to UK residents of any age.
3. How to Enter
3.1. Entries must be submitted in their original format by email using the details provided by the Organiser (tracks@clarkeandpulman.com).
3.2. There is no maximum number of entries that can be submitted by any one person.
3.3. Entries must be received by the closing date and time. Late entries will not be considered.
3.4. No purchase is necessary to enter.
3.5. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any entry that is incomplete, illegible, corrupted, offensive, unlawful or otherwise does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
4. Photography Requirements
4.1. Photographs must relate to farming or agriculture and should reflect the theme of the Competition: [your life in agriculture].
4.2. Photographs must be the entrant's own original work and must not have been previously submitted to this Competition.
4.3. Reasonable digital editing is permitted, including cropping, exposure, colour and contrast adjustments. Images that have been substantially manipulated or generated using artificial intelligence must be clearly identified and may be excluded at the Organiser's discretion.
4.4. Entrants must not place logos, watermarks, names or other identifying information over the photograph unless specifically permitted by the Organiser.
4.5. Photographs must not depict illegal, dangerous or deliberately harmful activity.
4.6. Entrants are responsible for obtaining permission from landowners, farmers, businesses or other relevant persons where necessary to access private land or photograph restricted areas.
5. People, Animals and Privacy
5.1. Where identifiable people appear in an entry, the entrant should obtain their permission to take and submit the photograph where reasonably required.
5.2. Where children or vulnerable individuals are identifiable, appropriate permission from a parent, guardian or responsible person must be obtained before submission.
5.3. Entrants must not put themselves, other people or animals at unnecessary risk in order to obtain a photograph.
5.4. Animal welfare must take priority over obtaining a photograph. The Organiser may disqualify any entry that appears to show deliberate cruelty, neglect or unsafe treatment of animals.
6. Copyright and Ownership
6.1. Entrants retain ownership and copyright of their photographs.
6.2. By entering the Competition, entrants grant the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to reproduce, publish and display submitted photographs for purposes both connected with the Competition and general marketing, including:
• Promoting the Competition and future competitions;
• Displaying shortlisted and winning photographs;
• Publishing results;
• Promoting farming, agriculture and the Organiser;
• Use on the Organiser's website, social media channels, newsletters and promotional materials.
6.3. The Organiser will, where reasonably practicable, credit the photographer when publishing an image.
6.4. The Organiser will not sell an entrant's photograph to a third party or use it for an unrelated commercial purpose without obtaining the entrant's further permission.
6.5. Entrants warrant that their photographs are their own original work and do not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights of any third party.
7. Judging
7.1. Entries will be judged by a panel selected by the Organiser.
7.2. Photographs will be judged on criteria including:
• Relevance to the Competition theme;
• Creativity and originality;
• Composition;
• Technical quality;
• Storytelling and ability to capture the character of farming and agricultural life.
7.3. The judges' decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding individual judging decisions.
8. Prizes
8.1. The prizes are:
£25 Voucher for Rufford’s Country Lifestyle per photograph used either within the calendar or the front cover.
8.2. Where an individual enters more than one image into the competition and multiple images are selected for inclusion in the calendar by the same person, the maximum prize awarded to that person will be £50, regardless of the number of photographs entered.
8.3. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
8.4. If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Organiser's control, the Organiser may substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value.
8.5. Winners will be contacted using the details provided with their entry.
9. Announcement of Winners
9.1. Winners will be announced once the judge has finalised their decision, this may be done via the website/social media/event.
9.2. The Organiser may publish the winner's name, photograph and competition category for the purposes of announcing and promoting the Competition.
10. Disqualification
10.1. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify an entrant if it reasonably believes that the entrant has:
• Breached these Terms and Conditions;
• Submitted someone else's work;
• Provided false or misleading information;
• Attempted to manipulate the judging or entry process;
• Engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour; or
• Submitted material that is unlawful, offensive or inappropriate.
11. Personal Data
11.1. Personal information supplied by entrants will be used for administering the Competition, contacting entrants where necessary and delivering prizes.
11.2. Personal data will be handled in accordance with the Organiser's privacy policy.
11.3. Entrants should not include unnecessary personal information about themselves or other people within submitted photographs or captions.
12. Liability
12.1. The Organiser will take reasonable care in administering the Competition but, to the extent permitted by law, will not be responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, damaged or unable to be submitted due to technical or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
12.2. Entrants are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate permission to access land and take photographs.
12.3. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
13. Changes or Cancellation
13.1. The Organiser reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Competition where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.
13.2. Any significant changes will be communicated through their website/social media/email/ any other communication channel deemed appropriate.
14. Governing Law
14.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction in relation to the Competition, subject to any mandatory rights participants may have under applicable law.
